The students participating in LTA activities organized by the host school, Levanger videregående skole, were organized in international teams, and they were challenged in various ways during the mobility.
The aim for the first day was to get to know each other, the school and the city. The participants walked around in their groups and encountered tasks that forced them to cooperate. Some challenges were quiz questions about Levanger, whereas others invited them to be creative, by for instance taking a group selfie while displaying a certain emotion. Pictures they took during their walk were uploaded to a Padlet, which made it possible for us to watch all the pictures together in the auditorium at the end of the day.
The second day, the participants had an excursion to the historical grounds of Stiklestad, where they were taken back to the viking era and the christening of Norway. They were invited to do various physical and traditional activities and to try on costumes. The intention with this excursion was to serve as an introduction to the storytelling workshop the next day, and the students were given a small homework before going home: «Choose a few stories from your life that you feel comfortable telling us. It is wise to have more than one in mind because sometimes even a great story can be hard to work with and it’s a relief to have a backup or two». They were also given a booklet, which whas meant as a guide to help them choose a story from their life, organize their story, develop their storytelling skills, and film their story.
On the third day, before the storytelling workshop, the participants were invited to do breathing and voice exercises, and to practice body power positions. During the workshop, they were given thorough instructions. Each participant developed their own story with help from their group and filmed each other telling their story. Each story was about 2 - 3 minutes, and they were all uploaded to our common Padlet. During this activity, the participants got the opportunity to develop their creativity and cooperation skills.
The fourth day, the participants took part in a Cultural Heritage E-book workshop. They were organized in new international groups, and each group was assigned one of the following topics, which would form the chapter in the E- book they were going to create: democracy, religion, art/architecture, cuisine and language. Their task was to find, organize and summarize similarities between the countries, and to use pictures that the students had already taken to express the ideas when possible.
The last day of the mobility, the participants had an excursion to Trondheim, with a guided tour of Nidaros Cathedral. They walked in international groups and visited other historical and culturally significant places.
